China (Shandong)—Tanzania Economic and Trade Cooperation Cloud Dialogue Held Online

On December 13, the China (Shandong)-Tanzania Economic and Trade Cooperation Cloud Dialogue, co-sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tanzania, and the Embassy of Tanzania in China, was held online. Mbelwa Kairuki, Tanzanian Ambassador to China, Dr. Lugano Wilson, Director of Industrial Development of the Tanzanian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Zhang Xingcheng, Deputy Director of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, delivered speeches respectively. Representatives of more than 70 institutions and enterprises from Jinan, Qingdao, Weihai, Linyi, Liaocheng, Dezhou, and Tanzania attended the online meeting and exchanged their views.

According to Zhang Xingcheng, this Dialogue will bring new opportunities for the economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Tanzania, and inject new impetus into the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Tanzania and the implementation of the “Nine Programs” of China-Africa cooperation. Ambassador Kairuki and Dr. Lugano spoke highly of the economic and trade cooperation between Tanzania and Shandong in recent years, hoping to further strengthen exchanges with the governments and enterprises in Shandong, implement the memorandum of strategic cooperation, expand two-way trade and investment, and jointly create a model for China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.
