Shandong Organizes 30 Enterprises to Oman for Sales Exhibition

Recently, the Shandong Export Commodities Oman Exhibition & Market Procurement Trade Pilot Exhibition took place in Barka, Oman. Many people from political and business circles of China and Oman attended the opening ceremony offline, and Zhang Xingcheng, deputy director-general of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, delivered speeches online. The event is an important part of Shandong's 100 exhibitions overseas in 2022 and the first comprehensive international exhibition held in Oman by Shandong Province.

According to resources, more than 30 enterprises in Shandong participated in the exhibition, mainly involving machinery, building materials, electromechanical, textile, and food industries. Oman's Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Business Association organized 40 enterprises for exhibition. Before the exhibition, more than 100 one-to-one negotiations were arranged by organizers of each side, and more than 3,000 buyers from Oman were invited. On the day of the opening ceremony, the exhibition hall received nearly 8,000 visits.

Oman is one of Shandong's important economic and trade partners in the Belt and Road Initiative countries. In recent years, both sides have seen thriving trading ties, growing cooperation scales, and mounting cooperation levels. In 2021, the bilateral trade volume registered 5.76 billion US dollars, up 131.7%. Shandong's auto parts, steel, mechanical equipment, plastics, textiles, light, and industrial products are widely reputed in the Oman market.
