20+ Weihai Enterprises Participate in Asia Fashion Fair 2022

The Asia Fashion Fair 2022 was held in Tokyo on December 7. Weihai City organized more than 20 enterprises to attend the fair with a total of more than 50 people. This is the first time that Weihai has organized a delegation to participate in an overseas exhibition since 2020. Meanwhile, it is an important measure for Weihai to seize the new opportunity for economic recovery, laying a good foundation for its foreign cooperation.

Textiles and garments are the traditional advantageous industry of Weihai City. There are currently 1,677 foreign trade enterprises engaged in textile and garment export in Weihai, accounting for nearly one third of its total. In the first three quarters of 2022, the economy of Weihai City was stable on the whole, with the import and export volume of foreign trade reaching RMB 160.62 billion, an increase of 12.5%, and the trade surplus reaching RMB 83.48 billion, an increase of 34.9%. At the same time, to further deepen foreign cooperation, the Bureau of Commerce of Weihai City has set up special economic and trade representative offices in South Korea and Japan, which has built an important bridge for its foreign economic and trade exchanges with Japan and South Korea.

Next, the Bureau of Commerce of Weihai City will intensify the efforts to expand the market, organize a number of domestic and foreign exhibitions and activities in view of the actual needs of Weihai enterprises and their industry advantages, and fully leverage special funds for market development. Efforts will also be made to optimize the organization and service mode of exhibitions to support enterprises in exploring the international market and to promote the stable improvement of foreign trade and the leapfrog development of business and investment attraction in the city.
