Quantity Of Human Resources In Shandong Exceeding 15 Million People, Ranking Third Nationwide

On November 21, the 2nd Shandong Talents Innovation and Development Fair & the 12th China Shandong Domestic and Overseas High-end Talents Exchange and Projects Conference were unveiled in Jinan City. At the conference, the Shandong Institute of Talent Development Strategy issued the Research Report on Talent Development in Shandong Province 2022 (“the Report”), which notes that the quantity of human resources in Shandong Province has exceeded 15 million people, the third nationwide.

The Report shows that as of 2022, funds for sci-tech development at the provincial level reached RMB 14.52 billion, a year-on-year increase of 10% for two consecutive years. Besides, the province has established the Shandong Institute of Advanced Technology, Shandong Energy Institute, Shandong Future Network Institute, and other new R&D institutions. Since the launch of the strategy “growing Shandong with a strong talent base” in 2020, the province has made great efforts to bring in, nurture, and gather human resources, shaping a competitive edge in this regard. Over the past three years, Shandong has pooled over 2.18 million college graduates and the number of college graduates settling in the province has realized steady growth for three consecutive years, with the trend of net inflow continuing.
