Number Of Pre-Made Dish Market Entities In Shandong To Exceed 10,000 In 2025, Production Value Over Trillion Yuan

Recently, Shandong Province issued the Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Province’s Pre-made Dish Industry (“the Opinions”), which expects that by 2025, the province’s pre-made dish processing capacity will improve, together with significant enhancement in the level of standardization, core competitiveness and brand effect, and the number of pre-made dish market players will exceed 10,000, and the output value of the whole industry chain will exceed RMB 1 trillion.

The Opinions clarify 16 specific measures around building a strong industrial chain, expanding a multi-dimensional market, building a standard system and enhancing innovation capabilities, seeking to boost the high-quality development of the pre-made dish industry. It proposes to build standardized production bases, cultivate and strengthen processing enterprises, develop cold chain logistics, and promote industrial clustering, among other measures, to solidify the foundation of industrial development and cultivate high-quality pre-made dish enterprises in a stepwise manner. It also proposes to develop pre-made dish products that are recognized by consumers, with high market share and model effects, and support the development of pre-made dish e-commerce enterprises, to expand online and offline sales channels. By 2025, the province will cultivate more than 10 leading pre-made dish enterprises valued at or exceeding RMB 10 billion, and build 30 pre-made dish industrial parks with Shandong characteristics.
