Shangdong Province to Shape 10 Platform Economy Ecosystems

The Shandong Provincial People’s Government has recently released the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Regulated, Sound, and Sustainable Development of the Platform Economy (“the Opinions”), proposing to cultivate 10 platform economy ecosystems, namely, industrial internet, e-commerce, fintech, smart healthcare, digital tourism, intelligent sports, digital agriculture, modern logistics, commodity trading, and livelihood services, based on its industrial base and development advantages, and to realize gradual integration and empowerment of the platforms in the coming three years.

According to the Opinions, Shandong will cultivate some brand enterprises of platform economy featuring shared resources, open data, collaborative innovation, and supply chain integration in three years, to form a cluster of platform economy with the virtual concentration of industrial resources, platform-based operation, and online synergy, and establish an industry chain of platform economy with collaborative innovation, complementary strengths, and supply and demand connection. By 2025, Shandong will have cultivated about five national “cross-industry and cross-field” industrial internet platforms, more than 300 provincial industrial internet platforms; more than 10 platform economy industry clusters, and more than 50 leading enterprises in key areas.
