A few days ago, after expert review and the approval of the High-tech Zone Special Committee, Qingdao identified the first 4 science and technology innovation industrial parks, and planned to build about 10 science and technology innovation industrial parks within three years.

The construction of these parks mainly aims to address the previous prevalent problems of the Qingdao science and technology parks, such as the weak leading role of "chain master" enterprises, low space utilization, poor scientific and technological service capabilities, and lack of talent concentration. The science and technology innovation industrial parks would build a highland for technology-based enterprises and innovative and entrepreneurial young talents. It is reported that the relevant departments at the municipal and district levels would actively guide the identified science and technology innovation industrial parks in terms of industrial access and project investment, provide policy support such as platform construction, enterprise cultivation, and talent introduction, and create the Qingdao characteristic science and technology innovation industrial park integrating industrial chain agglomeration, enterprise cultivation, scientific and technological services, financial support, and entrepreneurial incubation, so as to supplement, strengthen and extend the industrial chain.
