Linyi Becomes One of the Two Shandong Cities that Got Approval for Building Their Provincial University Science Parks

Recently, the Science and Technology Department and the Education Department of Shandong Province approved Linyi’s building of Shandong University Science Park with the support of its High-tech Zone. It’s reported that this year, Shandong has approved the building of only two provincial university science parks, including Linyi’s.

Linyi’s Shandong University Science Park will be built following the pattern of“1+3+3+N.””1” refers to the Science and Technology Talents Port in Linyi’s High-tech Zone. The port will become the core of the development of the University Science Park. The first “3” refers to three incubation carriers which will become develop in a coordinated way together with the University Science Park, namely the High-tech Venture Park, Longhu Software Park and Longwan Electronic Information Industrial Park. The second “3” means three characteristic industrial parks concerning electron components, health care and information technology. The development of these three parks will be stimulated by the construction of the University Science Park. “N” represents key universities with a high industrial integration degree, like Tongji University, Southeast University, Shandong University, and so on. They will participate in the building of the University Science Park.

Next, Linyi will continuously assemble service resources and focus on reginal economic development, so as to make its University Science Park a characteristic park serving universities, enterprises and the whole city. It’s expected that the park will be built into a national university science park in three to five years.
