Shandong Province resolutely takes the road of modernization toward ecological priority and green development, presses ahead with major projects for “New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion” in a down-to-earth manner, and keeps promoting commercialization of a number of significant green & low-carbon technological achievements, in order to bring Shandong experience for China’s high-quality green and low-carbon development.

In Weifang Yaxing Chemical Co., Ltd., a maglev blower system is sending fresh air into the material tank. Such maglev blower, which is produced by Tianrui Heavy Industry, helps save electricity by more than 30% as compared to traditional Roots blower, thus about 2 million KWH of electricity can be saved annually.

Statistical data show that in Shandong Province there are more than 30,000 manufacturing enterprises (including Yaxing) above designated scale, implying Shandong is faced with huge pressure in energy conservation and emission reduction. In recent years, Shandong Province has successively enacted policies to step up efforts in green and low-carbon technology research. Under the guidance of the provincial policies, Weifang City plans to expand the maglev energy-saving industrial chain developed by Tianrui Heavy Industry, in an effort to build an enterprise worth RMB 100 billion as soon as possible.

Shandong Province also takes scientific research institutes (aside from sci-tech enterprises) as an important carrier for sci-tech research and commercialization. In Qingdao, Shandong Energy Research Institute has newly developed a sort of green plasticizer arising from microbial fermentation, which helps fundamentally resolve the toxic issue caused by traditional petrochemical plasticizer, and bring down the carbon emission by more than 10,000 tons.

So far, Shandong Province has approved of construction of 21 provincial-level key laboratories and 5 provincial-level technological innovation centers in the field of resources & environment and ecological remediation. Besides, it earmarked fiscal budget of RMB 108 million for implementation of “Carbon Emissions Peak and Carbon Neutrality” significant sci-tech demonstration project. Not long ago, the Opinions of the State Council on Supporting Shandong to Deepen New and Old Kinetic Energy Conversion and Promote High-quality Green & Low-carbon Development was promulgated, and Shandong Province will seize the policy opportunities to lay a more solid foundation for its green & low-carbon technology research and commercialization.
