Weifang Explores New Pattern for Marine Industry

The 4th Weifang International Marine Dynamic Equipment Exposition opened on September 18, with the participation of more than 300 renowned enterprises and marine research institutes from home and abroad. The exposition aimed to create a sound marine industry ecosystem, build, make up, extend and strengthen the marine industry chain, help create a new pattern of deep cooperation between upstream and downstream sectors and integrated development of enterprises in all sizes for the marine industry, and enhance the resilience and stability of the marine industry chain and supply chain.

During the exposition, the Institute of Seawater Desalination and Multipurpose Utilization, MNR (Tianjin), the Oceanic Administration of Shandong Province and the Weifang Municipal People's Government reached an agreement on jointly building the Shandong Research Center for Multipurpose Seawater Utilization. As the first of its kind in China, the center will strive to achieve major technical breakthroughs and transform research findings in fields such as the total-factor analysis and extract of seawater, the development path of multipurpose seawater utilization and the coordinated development of the whole industry chain, explore and set industrial standards for multipurpose seawater utilization, and promote the innovative, high-end, green, intelligent and integrated development of multipurpose seawater utilization.
