Laixi to Build National High-end New Graphite Materials Industry Base

Recently, the Laixi Municipal People's Government has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Tanyi New Energy Co., Ltd. According to the initial plan, the company will invest a total of nearly 6 billion yuan in a new energy project, which includes 10 new graphite materials sub-projects in Laixi. These sub-projects cover graphite deep processing, the production of the high-end anode and silicon materials, spherical graphite, a research institute, a museum, etc. Through the new energy project, Laixi aims to create a whole industry chain.

As a basic raw material for industrial development, graphite is widely applied in traditional industries and strategic emerging industries. It enjoys huge potential and a broad prospect. As one of the main fronts for the development of China's new graphite materials industry, Laixi has built Nanshu Graphite Industrial Park. There are currently a total of 33 new graphite materials enterprises in the park, which manufacture modified natural graphite, high-purity flake graphite, lithium anode materials, graphene and other high-value-added products, forming an integrated industrial chain and six industrial advantages. In the first seven months of this year, Nanshu's new graphite materials industry achieved an output value of 2.078 billion yuan, up 50.47% year on year.

With the settlement of Tanyi's new energy project and the implementation of Qingdao's "three-year action to rejuvenate the real economy", Tanyi is ambitious to build a world-class new material industry chain with an output value of 100 billion yuan and become the chain leader, injecting vitality into Laixi's new graphite materials industry.
