Shandong Empowers Industrial Upgrading Digitally

While promoting the digital transformation and intelligent upgrading of traditional industries by guiding enterprises in using cloud computing, big data and other new technologies, Shandong is fostering and expanding emerging industries like software service, and leading the high-quality development of the digital economy.

In the first seven months of this year, Jinan's software industry reported revenues of 238.73 billion yuan, accounting for 48.4% of Shandong's total, up 14% year on year, 5.7% above the average growth of the sub-provincial cities in China. The city carried out seven actions regarding digital technology, including solidifying the basic hardware chain, making up for the basic software chain, strengthening the information security chain, and guiding enterprises in using cloud computing, big data and other new technologies, so as to provide strong support for the building of a province strong in advanced manufacturing and the digital industry.

According to the plan, Shandong will achieve a major breakthrough in strong digital province building by 2025. The key industries in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors will be fully digitalized, more than 90% of industrial enterprises above the designated size will complete intelligent transformation, the added value of Shandong's core digital industries will account for more than 10% of Shandong's GDP, and a national demonstration zone for digital economy innovation and development will be built up in Shandong.
