Zibo Aims to Increase Total Output Value of Hydrogen Industry to 50+ Billion Yuan

On August 24, Zibo released the Medium & Long-term Plan for the Development of Zibo's Hydrogen Industry (2022-2030).

The Plan mapped out the layout of Zibo's hydrogen industry: building four industrial bases--hydrogen mass production base, hydrogen equipment manufacturing base, fuel cell commercial vehicle manufacturing base, and manufacturing base for key materials and core components of fuel cells.

The four bases, all driven by innovation, will crack key technologies through leading hydrogen enterprises; work with universities and research institutes to develop new hydrogen production technologies; build laboratories to research the technologies, and mass production of key materials and components, to keep achieving breakthroughs in key "bottleneck" technologies; bring in manufacturers of fuel cell vehicles and key parts, to create a complete fuel cell vehicle industry chain and accelerate the commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicles.

Zibo has made clear its key task: with a focus on the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, Zibo will leverage its strengths in hydrogen production and hydrogen fuel cell production, make up for deficiencies in hydrogen industry development, accelerate the aggregation of elements for hydrogen industry development, step up the implementation of the "Hydrogen into Numberless Families" science & technology demonstration project, and create various scenarios of hydrogen application, so as to promote the development of the whole hydrogen industry chain.
