WHHDZ’s Office Automation Equipment Featured Industry Cluster Rises

The office automation equipment featured industry cluster of Weihai High-tech Development Zone (WHHDZ) was listed among the top 10 in the comprehensive assessment of Shandong's featured industry clusters in 2022, and will receive a maximum special support fund of 1 million yuan from the provincial treasury.

The office automation equipment featured industry cluster of WHHDZ is an important part of Weihai's next-generation information technology industry cluster. With tremendous comprehensive strength and great development vitality, it has brought in 4 enterprises among Fortune Global 500, including HP, Lenovo and Jabil, as well as 543 relevant enterprises like SNBC and SHEC. Among these enterprises are 62 key enterprises above the designated size, as well as 23 leading manufacturers of printing and scanning equipment and intelligent electronic equipment. In 2021, leading industries in the cluster achieved primary operating revenues of 20.6 billion yuan and a profit of 1.58 billion yuan, up 23.2% and up 31.7% year on year respectively.

With a grand gathering of innovation platforms and a strong capacity for innovation and R&D, the cluster includes 5 universities such as Shandong University, Weihai and Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai, more than 40 research institutions, 3 national platforms: State Engineering Laboratory, National Corporate Technical Center and Comprehensive Research Center of Electronic Information Technology in the MIIT, as well as 22 provincial R&D platforms like Shandong Provincial Research Center of Image Reading and Printing and Shandong Provincial Engineering Laboratory of Special Printers and Relevant Products.
