Project-driven, Shandong Accelerates the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries

Strategic emerging industries include most of the industries of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, which are the key areas to accelerate the development of new driving forces and promote high-quality development, and are also the key to replacing old driving forces with new ones in Shandong.

Shandong attaches great importance to the cultivation of strategic emerging industrial clusters. A myriad of industrial clusters with strong innovation capabilities and leadership have emerged. Up to now, Shandong has 7 national strategic emerging industrial clusters with a scale of more than RMB 1 trillion, among which 6 are worth more than RMB 100 billion. In addition, Shandong has more than 400 innovation platforms at the provincial level, more than 300 key projects underway, and 25 strategic emerging industrial clusters at the provincial level.

To vigorously cultivate and develop strategic emerging industries, high levels of aggregation of innovation elements, deep communication among innovative personnel, and highly complex innovation networks are needed. Shandong must adhere to innovation-driven development, and promote the construction of infrastructure and high-level innovation platform from a high starting point.

The smooth promotion of projects concerning strategic emerging industries can't be achieved without the "nanny-type" services of government departments at all levels. At present, apart from preventing and controlling the pandemic, local governments are speeding up the work, coordinating relevant elements, and promoting the construction of projects.
