Shandong Issued 28 Policies to Support High-quality Development of Provincial-level New Areas

On April 1, the general office of the provincial government issued Several Policies and Measures to Support the High-quality Development of Provincial-level New Areas (Hereinafter referred to as "Policies and Measures"). The 28 policies cover seven aspects, including innovating operating systems and mechanisms, encouraging scientific and technological innovation, and strengthening the support elements, to build high-level new areas with high standards and a high starting point across the province.

In terms of boosting the industrial upgrading, the "Policies and Measures" propose to strengthen the leading industries in the new area, support each provincial new area to select 2-3 leading industries to identify "goose formation" clusters, and to cultivate a batch of "Gazelle Enterprises", "Unicorn Enterprises" and "Single Champion Enterprises", encourage the prioritized arrangement of national and provincial major projects in the new area, support the industrial projects in the new areas of Yantai, Linyi, Dezhou and Heze to be preferentially included in the prioritized project list of "replacing old growth drivers with new ones", and guide financial and social capital investment.
