Recently, the reporter learned from Shandong Provincial Big Data Bureau that the huge market of Shandong provides broad and rich application scenarios for the development of the digital economy.

Data shows that in 2021, in Shandong, the revenue of the information technology industry exceeded RMB 1.2 trillion, the value added of core industries in the digital economy accounted for more than 6% of GDP, and the total size of the digital economy ranked third in the country.

With the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and the manufacturing sector, Shandong has built a digital, intelligent and new network infrastructure and a brand-new industrial ecology, to speed up the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry. Shandong has carried out intelligent and green technological upgrading, and built 115 provincial-level platforms through the implementation of "1, 10 and 100" industrial Internet cultivation project (more than 1 provincial industrial Internet comprehensive service platform, 10 cross-industry and cross-field industrial Internet platforms, 100 industrial Internet platforms for specific industries, regions or application scenarios). At present, the integration of informatization and industrialization in Shandong ranks second in China, and several projects have become national benchmarks.

According to the 2022 Action Plan on Digital Reform and Innovation, this year marks the key breakthrough year for the development of the digital economy in Shandong. The supply-side activities shall focus on cultivating the core industries of the digital economy, and the demand-side activities shall focus on the promotion and application of digital technology. Shandong will empower traditional information technology enterprises with big data, cloud computing and artificial intelligence. It will cultivate a new generation of information technology industry, in a bid to empower the traditional economic and social development, to promote the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, so that the digital economy will become an important engine supporting Shandong's economic and social development. The goal is to achieve an increase of more than 11% in the total digital economy of the province. And the value of core digital economy industries should account for 7% of the GDP.
