As a major grain production and processing province, Shandong's total industrial production value of the grain industry has ranked first in the country for many years. According to the news of the Shandong Government Press Conference held on March 15, this figure is expected to exceed RMB 500 billion this year, setting a new historical record again.

In recent years, Shandong Province, with a focus on "Grain at the front, food at the tail" (farming and marketing of agricultural products) "Agriculture at the front, industry at the tail"(integration development of planting industry and agricultural processing), actively promoted the transformation and upgrading of grain industry from large to strong. Shandong Province continues to deepen the quality grain project, which has accumulated investment of RMB 8.266 billion to help improve the industry. The total industrial production value of the grain industry in the province increased by more than RMB 100 billion than before the implementation of the project. Science and technology innovation capabilities continue to enhance, the province's grain industry has 85 science and innovation platforms of provincial level or above, including 33 national-level ones. Brand building has been strengthened, and various marketing drives brand enterprises to add more than RMB 40 billion in sales revenue.

This year, Shandong Province will focus on the "Two excellent" and "Two new", to build a strong food industry and promote the food industry. Shandong will also implement quality food projects to promote the "Synergy of three chains". Shandong will consolidate and expand the grain industry demonstration counties, demonstration enterprises, demonstration stores, support grain enterprises to build the high-quality raw material base, strengthen the staple food and processing, extend the industrial chain, enhance the value chain, build the supply chain, to achieve the "five excellent linkages" of production, purchase, storage, processing and marketing. Shandong will also create "China's good grain and oil" products to demonstrate, lead, benefit enterprises and enrich the people with efficient supply.
