"Yantai Industrial Base for Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises currently has 8 companies in residence, including Mitsubishi Electric Cooperation and Innovation Center and Shandong Institute of Free Trade Industry." Previously, the reporter learned from the China-Japan (Yantai) Industrial Park Work Group that the Industrial Base for Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises has become a new platform for attracting Japanese small and medium enterprises since it was officially put into operation in November 2021.

Located in the core area of China-Japan (Yantai) Industrial Park, the Industrial Base for Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises makes full use of the existing factory resources in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone and introduces a well-known Japanese space design agency, Shoei Bijutsu, to carry out the design and renovation. The industrial base is jointly operated by municipal and district-level state-owned companies and the Global Technological Resource Academy from Japan. Relying on the advantages of the Academy's abundant small and medium member enterprises in Japan, the base has created a professional service platform for Japanese small and medium enterprises that are science and technology-based to enter the Chinese market.

To further support the high-quality development of the Industrial Base for Japanese Small and Medium Enterprises, Yantai Customs issued work initiatives in January this year to promote the base relying on the China-Japan (Yantai) Industrial Park to seize the opportunity of RCEP, further deepen foreign trade and economic cooperation or exchange with Japan, and build a new platform for high-level opening. The support initiatives mainly include seizing the opportunity of RCEP to accelerate the conversion of the incubation results of the base; facilitating the introduction of advantageous technologies to create special industrial clusters; strengthening the leading role of the Comprehensive Bonded Zone to enhance the level of trade facilitation; optimizing customs supervision services to help the innovative development of the base and other 16 specific measures of four aspects.
