Recently, Shandong started the centralized construction of major projects in the spring of 2022, with a total investment of 734.5 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 231.7 billion yuan for 900 projects.

The above-mentioned major projects cover industrial upgrading, "seven networks" campaign, ecological and environmental protection, livelihood protection, platform construction and other fields, with a total investment of 734.5 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 231.7 billion yuan, of which more than 60% are emerging industry projects, 178 projects over 1 billion yuan and 39 foreign investment projects.

The Shandong Provincial Work Mobilization Conference in 2022 proposed that it is necessary to accurately grasp the entry point, aim for breakthroughs, deeply implement the innovation-driven development strategy, deploy a batch of innovative projects, launch a series of creative measures, carry out a sequence of innovative pilot projects, and strive to create more opportunities to lead the development with first-mover advantages. Among the major projects started this time, emerging industry projects accounted for more than 60%, featuring innovative and green development.

As a major foreign trade province with a total import and export volume of 2.93 trillion yuan last year, Shandong has set a new historical record for six consecutive years. Against the complex and volatile changes in the external environment, the construction of major projects has played an important supporting role in stabilizing the fundamentals of foreign trade and foreign investment.
