Recently, the State Council Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference on the Innovative Development for Trade in Services launched the second batch of 17 best practice cases for the whole country to further develop the pilot scheme, and Weihai was successfully selected by virtue of the practice of "Innovative International Cooperation Mechanism for Trade in Services".

Innovative international cooperation mechanism for trade in services is the first service trade cooperation mechanism between cities in China and South Korea that Weihai has established successfully by actively exploring and deepening international cooperation with key service trade partners. So far, Weihai has opened 9 sea routes to the ports of Incheon, Pyeongtaek, Gunsan and Busan in South Korea, with 21 ro-ro passenger ship and container routes per week, and opened passenger routes to Incheon, Cheongju and Daegu in South Korea with 60 passenger and cargo routes per week. Relying on the Center for Northeast Asia Research Shandong University, Weihai China-Korea Free Trade Zone Local Economic Cooperation Research Center was established. It also established cooperation with the Development Research Center of the State Council, Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, and South Korean Yeosijae (Future Consensus Institute), etc. to continuously carry out overall strategic research on cooperation with Korea and provide intellectual support for the construction of the demonstration zone.

In the future, Weihai will speed up the promotion of "Four-port linkage" on the basis of establishing a policy communication and decision-making mechanism between governments, increase the number of air flights and container, passenger and cargo routes to Korea, build a five-in-one logistics facility system of sea, land, air, rail and mail, realize the integrated and coordinated development of logistics, and build a two-way golden logistics pathway for goods from China, Korea and even the world to Japan, Europe, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and even the global community through Weihai and Incheon.
