Shandong Goes All out to Develop "New Infrastructure" Network for Transportation

The Department of Transport of Shandong has recently released the Fourteenth Five-Year Development Plan of Shandong Province for Transportation Technology Innovation. In the plan, Shandong set the overall goal of transportation technology innovation in the "fourteenth five-year" period: by 2025, Shandong will rank top in China in terms of the R&D level of transportation technology and the technical level of intellig ent transportation, make new progress in technology achievement transformation, popularization and application, significantly improve the capability of transportation technology innovation, and continue to deepen the institutional reform of transportation technology innovation.

This year Shandong will go all out to develop a "new infrastructure" network for transportation. In terms of intelligent expressway construction, with the goal of "all-section sensing, all-weather transit and full-process control", Shandong will give play to the pilot role of the Taian-Zaozhuang section of Beijing-Taipei Expressway, and complete the intelligent expressway demonstration part and the main part of the Weifang-Qingdao section of the central line of Jinan-Qingdao Expressway by late 2022. In terms of intelligent high-speed rail construction, Shandong will initially create a digital management platform for high-speed rail project construction by late 2022. In terms of intelligent port construction, Shandong will go all out to develop a port cloud ecology platform and an automated terminals system integrating logistics, supervision and services, and deepen the application of port scenarios such as 5G, BeiDou and IoT, so as to build world leading next-generation intelligent ports. In terms of intelligent port construction, Shandong will improve paperless customs clearance (customs clearance with identity card only).
