The Shandong-Switzerland Online Projects Matching Meeting was held in Jinan on the afternoon of January 21 as the first event of "Select Shandong" Cloud Roadshow 2022 for International Economic and Trade Cooperation.

Switzerland is one of the most developed and innovative countries in the world. At the promotion session, the senior executives from Switzerland's SwissVita and STOR-H Technologies introduced the history, culture, product features and technical innovations of respective enterprises.

Xia Bin, Deputy Director of the Yantai Investment Promotion Center, introduced the industrial development of Yantai.

For the success of the meeting, heads of the Shandong International Investment Promotion Center (SIIPC) and Biz Switzerland delivered video addresses prior to the promotion session.

"Shandong has attached great importance to the development of economic and trade cooperation with Switzerland," said Jin Xiaofeng, Director of SIIPC. "Over the past years, the two sides have maintained longstanding economic and trade relations with the philosophy of win-win cooperation." He hoped that the meeting would build a bridge of economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Switzerland, to promote the win-win development of enterprises on both sides.

Addressing the meeting by video link, Kevin Mckenzie, Honorary President of Biz Switzerland, said there is huge potential for Switzerland-Shandong cooperation in fields such as pharmaceuticals, medicare and machinery & equipment. He expected Swiss enterprises to find appropriate partners via the meeting. "Today marks a start for our cooperation and I believe our concerted efforts will lead to a brighter future."

"I have an idea: bringing Shandong and Switzerland together by matching, which ranges from industry matching between areas to strength and resources matching between enterprises," said Connie Way, China Representative of Biz Switzerland. "Based on the association's understanding of cultural and business habits in both China and Switzerland, in an alternative manner, we can leverage experts' specialties and individual ways to find paths for project implementation. The meeting delivered by video link has strengthened relations between enterprises and boosted Swiss enterprises' confidence in the Chinese market, she noted, expecting more Swiss enterprises to join the development of Shandong.

Following the meeting, Jin said the meeting, which was well coordinated and organized, and fruitful, could be a classic case for future reference.
