On June 24, the globally first green development index system of pilot free trade zone was released at the Qingdao Free Trade Zone Green Development Conference, marking another important breakthrough in the field of system innovation in Qingdao Pilot Free Trade Zone, leading the "new model of green and low-carbon ecological development" of the global pilot free trade zones.

Centering on the positioning of "building the international shipping hub of Northeast Asia, an important innovation center in the eastern coastal area and a demonstration zone for marine economic development", the green development index system of Qingdao Pilot Free Trade Zone highlights new technologies, new industries, new formats and new models ("four new aspects"), focuses on industry intelligentizing, intelligence industrializing, cross-border integration and high-end brand ("four targets"), emphasizes the integrated development of local trade, logistics, finance and ecology, covers four dimensions of economy, environment, society and governance, and sets up 12 categories and 40 major items involving green trade, green port and waterway logistics, green industry, green innovation, green finance, green environment, green resources and energy, green construction, green life, green intelligence, green exchange and green mechanism and system.

The index system highlights the theme of "green" and sets high-level "double carbon" goal. Taking 2027 as the time node, under the "ahead of schedule" model of the indicator system, the carbon emission intensity target of the zone will be reduced by 74% compared with the national average level, and the "double carbon" goal will be achieved in advance.

Centering on the implementation of the green development concept, at the green development conference, Shandong port Qingdao Port, Pudong Development Bank, Qingdao West Coast New Area Bonded Logistics Center, China Germany Ecological Park Passive Housing Construction Technology Co., Ltd. and Haier Group respectively made keynote speeches as demonstration units of green development in the fields of port, finance, trade, construction and industry. The representatives, in combination with their own reality, shared green development experience with experts and guests in the field of industry, and discussed the way to promote the green development of the free trade zone.
