On the afternoon of June 18, the Conference for Connecting Shandong with Fortune Global 500 & Deepening Shandong-EU Cooperation hosted by Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the People's Government of Shandong Province was held at Shandong Hotel. VARGA Mihaly, Hungarian Vice Premier and Minister of Finance delivered a video speech. Liu Jiayi, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee attended the conference and Li Ganjie, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and governor of Provincial Government made a speech. 

Liu Jiayi had an online dialogue with Situ Che, Chairman of the Executive Board of Continental AG. Liu Jiayi said that Shandong is a strong province in economy and culture in eastern coast of China. In recent years, it has thoroughly implemented the important instructions of President Xi Jinping for Shandong's work and maintained a good momentum of economic and social development. Shandong enjoys a good foundation and complete supporting system in automobile industry, allowing it to have a broad space and promising prospect for development of automobile industry. Continental AG is the world's leading supplier of technology-based automotive supporting products. It is hoped that Continental AG and Shandong enterprises will strengthen cooperation, further elevate the level of project cooperation, expand investment cooperation space and improve the level of technological cooperation. We will, as always, create a good environment and provide quality services to promote new and greater achievements in bilateral cooperation. Situ Che said that Continental has established good cooperative relations with many Shandong enterprises, and its investment in Shandong has developed very smoothly. The group will further increase its investment in Shandong and strive to achieve mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. 

Li Ganjie said in his speech that the EU is an important economic and trade partner of Shandong, and the two sides have a solid foundation and many opportunities for cooperation. We are willing to take this event as a good opportunity, strengthen synergy, further promote two-way investment, expand economic and trade exchanges, deepen scientific and technological innovation, expand the third-party market, and push ahead with bilateral cooperation to a new high and a new level. During the online dialogue with Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice chairman and chief executive officer of Italian Pirelli Group, Li Ganjie expressed the hope that the two sides would further enhance the level of strategic cooperation, strengthen scientific and technological cooperation, and create a model for the sustainable development of the tire industry. We will provide our good service and support to the enterprises in Shandong in all-round way throughout the process for sound development. Tronchetti said that the rubber tire industry in Shandong has a good development momentum, and the group will continue to be deeply engaged in Shandong market for supporting the development of Shandong's manufacturing industry, energy conservation, carbon reduction and environmental protection.

While having an online dialogue with Javier Gimeno, senior vice president and chief executive officer of the Asia Pacific Region of Saint Gobain Group of France, Li Ganjie said that the investment projects of Saint Gobain Group are completely in fully line with the direction of transition from old to new drivers of growth and it is hoped that the two sides will further tap the cooperation potential in the field of new materials, push ahead with scientific and technological innovation, and enhance all-round exchanges and cooperation. Javier Gimeno noted that Shandong is a land of hope and a valuable destination for investment, and the group will continue to expand its investment in Shandong to facilitate more cooperative projects in place. 

Hubert Aiwanger, lieutenant governor of Bavaria & Minister of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy of Germany and Jorg Wuttke, president of European Union Chamber of Commerce in China delivered video speeches.

Online contract signing has been conducted for the city's key cooperative projects.

The event was held in the form of video. Provincial leaders Liu Qiang and Ji Binchang, representatives of Fortune Global 500 enterprises and persons in charge of investment enterprises in Shandong, representatives of EU business associations and representative offices in Shandong, and chiefs of relevant departments and some enterprises directly under the provincial government attended the event at the main venue.
