The Second Promotion Meeting for Transportation Integration Development in Jiaodong Economic Circle and Forum of Innovation & Development of Smart Transportation and Big Data Application was held in Qingdao at 9 a.m. on June 8, 2021, and the launching ceremony of Jiaodong Economic Circle Transportation Integration Key Projects was conducted in the meeting. 

The reporter learned that key projects of transportation construction is the substantial support for integration of comprehensive and 3D transportation network. Launching of 10 symbolic key projects will help to promote the interchange and communication between transportation infrastructure in 5 cities of Jiaodong. The key projects are as below:

1. Auxiliary passageway of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail(section from Tianjin to Weifang) The total length is 354 km with a total investment of RMB 76 billion.

2. Auxiliary passageway of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail (section from Weifang to Xinyi). The total length is 336.9 km with a total investment of RMB 57.46 billion.

3. Auxiliary railway from Qingdao to Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail. The total length is 108.3 km with a total investment of RMB 21.8 billion.

4. Electrical renovation project of Taocun-Weihai railway. The total length is 136.9 km with a total investment of RMB 5.53 billion.

5. Mingcun-Dongjiakou express way. The total length is 130 km with a total investment of RMB 21.4 billion.

6. Rushankou Bridge in Dandong section of G228 national road. The total length is 4.01 km with a total investment of RMB 1.34 billion.

7. Renovation project of G204 Yantai-Shanghai road (Laixi urban section) The total length is 11.86 km with a total investment of RMB 2.14 billion.

8. Renovation Project of G309 Rongcheng-Lanzhou road (section of boarder between Jiaozhou and Jimo to S219). The total length is 15.8 km with a total investment of RMB 1.58 billion.

9. Renovation project of passenger transportation facilities in Rizhao station.  The project includes construction of 4 platforms and 7 lines. After the construction, the new station will have a land area of 43,500 square kilometers with a total investment of RMB 1.956 billion.  

10. New Weihai airport. The airport is estimated to be of 4E grade, including 57 aircraft stands with a terminal as big as 125,000 square kilometers and a total investment of RMB 10.5 billion.
