On May 27,  Industry Zone Upclose: Targetting High-end Equipment Industry---"Select Shandong"(Weifang) was held in Weifang Fuhua International Conference Center. Aiming to accurately attract investment for the power equipment industry chain of Weifang High-tech Industry Development Zone, this activity was successfully held and it attracted over 100 domestic and international visitors, including leaders of American, British and German organizations in China, representatives of some international chambers of commerce such as Europe-China Foundation, leaders of famous consulting organizations such as the four major accounting firms, senior managers from several of the Fortune 500 and leaders of the upstream and downstream enterprises of the power equipment industry chain.

Zhang Xingcheng, deputy director-general of Department of Commerce of Shandong Province said in his speech, adding that the Department of Commerce had elaborately planned a series of "Select Shandong" high-end equipment industrial park activities in 2021, which are mainly aimed to create a cooperative atmosphere through the agglomeration effect of the park's manufacturing industry, so that more investment institutions can understand Shandong and choose Shandong to promote the transformation and upgrading of Shandong manufacturing industry and high-quality development.

Weifang, as a key city of manufacturing, is an important gathering place for manufacturing industry of Shandong Province. The total volume of manufacturing industry in Weifang accounts for about one tenth of the province and one percent of the country. As the first batch of national hi-tech zones established by the State Council, Weifang Hi-tech Zone owns 21 invisible champions and 27 gazelle enterprises, and 202 enterprises entering the capital market. 

According to Ma Qingmin, vice mayor of Weifang, Weifang is striving to build a national manufacturing industry high-quality development pilot zone now, and firmly promote the construction of key projects such as Weichai International Supporting Industrial Park and Goertek Optical Industrial Park, and achieve outstanding and strong eight industry clusters involving high-end equipment, high-end chemical industry, new generation information technology and automobile manufacturing etc. in an effort to create a unique business card of "Shandong is the highlight of manufacturing for China while Weifang is the highlight of manufacturing for Shandong".

It is learned that Weifang special event is the second one of "Select Shandong" high-end equipment industrial park campaign. It is sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, hosted by The International Investment Promotion Agency of Shandong Province and Shandong Internet Media Group, and co-hosted by Weifang Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Weifang Hi- Tech Development Zone and Weifang Economic and Technological Cooperation Center.
