The Tai'an Functional Zone of Qingdao Bonded Port Area is located in the new zone of Xintai Economic Development Zone (High-tech Zone) with a total planned area of 37 square kilometers. Four major sectors are planned: Bonded Industrial Zone, Bonded Support Zone, Industrial Cooperation Zone and Functional Radiation Zone. The core area is 6.6 square kilometers, which is planned fo the fence area (2.2 square kilometers), the business supporting area, the living supporting area and the industrial supporting area. The functional area has now completed the construction of the “five vertical and five horizontal” road network. The total logistics volume of the city is huge, and the industrial advantages are outstanding. The three leading industries of coal-electricity, high-end equipment manufacturing and strategic emerging industries have been cultivated. The investment environment is superior. There are abundant production factors such as electricity, water supply and heat supply. With the development zone as the core, the “one core, three districts and six parks”, with an area of more than 160 square kilometers, can effectively meet the development needs of enterprises.
Qingdao Bonded Port Area was approved and established on September 7, 2008, with a planned area of 9.72 square kilometers. It enjoys special policies such as “bonded, tax-free, exemption from license” and “domestic off-site”. It serves the function of international logistics, international trade, trading market, bonded processing, terminal operations, shipping services, R&D and corporate headquarters, testing and after-sales service, etc. It mainly builds a bonded logistics industrial park in Luzhong District, which integrates “four major functions” — high-end equipment export processing, bulk cargo logistics exhibition, Chuangzhi entrepreneur R&D incubation, and bonded function supporting services.
After the functional zones are completed and put into operation, they can accommodate more than 300 export-oriented enterprises, with an annual import and export volume of 4 billion US dollars and various taxes of 3 billion yuan.
